Little Ms. Wondergirl

Ms. Lola had a blast this Halloween with the Gunn family in Macon, Ga. She accompanied the Star Wars Crew to the annual neighborhood costume party followed by a hay ride in Uncle Christopher's truck for trick or treating. Little did she know daddy gave away her Halloween candy. Well, what she doesn't know won't hurt her. She is almost 2 now and a very chatty toddler. She orders us around "mommy wipe it, Daddy come here, Mommy come here, muffins..muffins yeah, oh yeah!" We are reminding her to say please constantly. We can hardly believe she is almost 2!!!!!

Little Miss Autonomous

Oh joy 20 months. Lola is still talking it up like a champ repeating everything we say. She actually mimicked the sentence "I'm proud of you" the other day. And just yesterday she identified octagon for the babysitter which really amazed us. She prefers to walk everywhere and there is no turning back to look for us which keeps us on our toes. I put her in front of the children's grocery cart recently and she pushed it all over the store. The items she retrieved from the shelf were as follows; salad dressing, Chips Ahoy cookies, creamer, wine, small pre-packaged blueberry muffins. I enjoyed viewing her assortment and decided these were, for the most part, items that I would have chosen myself. She learns quick. The wine was a red but I did not check to see if it was a merlot or pino noir as I was too busy scurrying after her to keep her from dropping the bottle. I could just see it now Clean up on aisle 2! She's asserting her independence and often remarks No! if we try to help her with any given task. I had my hand setting on the table 3" from her chicken nuggets the other day and she gently took my hand and removed it from the table. This independence stage becomes amusing when she puts socks on her arms and tries to wear the potty as a hat. So thankful for once that she has NOT started potty training!!!

Little Ms Laughter 18 months

18 months so fun and so intense! Lola is power walking just about everywhere now can't keep her constrained to a grocery cart or a high chair. And I have had a lesson in patience this week. If I do not allow her to take an extra 10 minutes examining the shampoo bottles in target I will have to deal with a full blown tantrum. She is a spirited little lady. She is doing really great with her words started linking two words together...all done, good girl, what's that, and recently added "Oh God" which cracks us up. She says this when she looses her balance or drops something. Funny what they'll pick up.

Lola 15 months

Lola turned 15 months March 4th. She's walking everywhere now, in fact, prefers walking over riding in the grocery cart or sitting in the high chair. She is petite and people remark "It doesn't seem like she should be walking she's so small!" She can fit into her 12 month clothing and her tiny feet are still size 3. She mimics mommy and daddy all the time. The other day she was walking around the house attempting to put sunglasses on her head as well as her baby doll's. The other day she tried to take her temperature with the ear thermometer. She likes to play with other kids & babies and is a social butterfly. She loves to clap and pat her head during music time and gets very excited when Barney come on. Her favorite songs are 'Wheels on the Bus' and 'If Your Happy and You Know it.' We are having so much fun with her and can't wait til spring is in full force so that we can take her to the playground. Yippee!!!!

Lola is a busy 13 month old. She can barely squeeze everything into her busy days. She is now taking steps. She gets very excited when coming to stand, screeches in delight, and walks 6-7 feet or so without support. She continues to push her firetruck, stroller and grocery cart around the house and loves to climb the stairs (supervised of course). She continues to work on her words and loves to say hi (accompanied by vigorous full arm waving), da da, ma ma, ba ba, ball, light and is starting to identify the parts of the face. Dottie's new name is 'good grrrrrrr' aka good girl which she picked up from our recent visits to the pet therapy hospital. We are having a ton of fun with her and she is wearing us out on a daily basis.
